Vauxhall has revealed its first PHEV, the Vauxhall Grandland X Hybrid4. The new PHEV system features a 1.6-litre Puretech petrol engine mated to two 108bhp electric motors powered by a 13.2kWh lithium-ion battery.
The Vauxhall Grandland X Hybrid4 will be capable of 31 miles of electric-only motoring, with Vauxhall claiming it can be charged in less than 2 hours using a 7.4kWh home wall box.
If the two-hour charging time puts you off, then the Vauxhall Grandland X Hybrid4 also features regenerative braking.
The PSA Group has said that it will emit just 49g/km of CO2.
The Free2Move Service will also be offered with the Grandland X Hybrid4, this will give access to 85,000 charging points across Europe, also featuring a trip planner to find charging stations included on the built in SAT NAV.
As more manufacturers are being pushed to meet new emission standards in the UK, Vauxhall will offer electrified versions of all vehicles in its range by 2024. Vauxhall will launch an electric version of the Corsa later this year, and has also confirmed full electric versions of the next Vivaro Life MPV, Vivaro van and the new generation Mokka X.
