RS5 line-up is relaunched in the UK in limited numbers

Audi RS 5 Sportback and RS 5 Coupe return to UK in limited numbers. Just 250 examples of each will be available in 2019

Audi RS 5 Sportback and RS 5 Coupe Return to UK

RS 5 Sportback makes its UK debut as RS 5 Coupe returns to the range and both will be offered exclusively in Audi Sport Edition form. Only 250 examples of each will be available in 2019 in the UK.

The chassis has been slightly upgraded over the standard A5 Sportback and A5 Coupe, including an RS-specific multi-link suspension setup and larger brakes. Further improvements include a standard Quattro sport differential that is configured to distribute power in the rear at a 40:60 split.

Drivers also benefit from enhancements that allow the drivers to tailor the cars' throttle response, steering weight and transmission shift points to suit them.

An Audi spokesperson said these 500 units are likely to be the final RS5 models sold before a particulate filter is installed as part of an update in 2020.

Audi RS5 Styling and Design

RS 5 Sportback makes its UK debut as RS 5 Coupe returns to the range and both will be offered exclusively in Sport Edition Form.

Subtle changes and design enhancements really change the look of the RS5 and make it stand out from anything else on the road.

Audi Sport Edition specification in both RS 5 variants brings larger 20-inch alloy wheels with an anthracite finish, fitting privacy glass, replacing aluminium-look exterior fittings such as the grille surround, window cappings and door mirror housings with high gloss black elements and installing the Audi Sport exhaust system.

Audi RS5 Price and Release Date

Just 250 examples of each will be available in 2019 exclusively in Audi Sport Edition form and with the same £68,985 OTR entry price

Audi RS5 Interior and Technology

The interior brings a fresh design, not too different from what we've seen in previous models but enough to notice a difference.

The seats are finished in Alcantara and nappa leather, with LED ambient lighting, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, blindspot monitoring and a panoramic sunroof fitted as standard.

Minor additions also add to the fresh look that the RS 5 brings, all-LED lights brighten up the cabin and fully digital Audi Virtual Cockpit with RS-specific displays are a modern touch. Audi Smartphone integration also features along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, MMI navigation plus.

Audi RS5 Engine and Performance

The RS5’s twin-turbocharged 2.9-litre V6 petrol engine produces 444bhp and 443lb ft, with drive sent to both axles via an eight-speed automatic gearbox.

Both models will do 0-62mph in just 3.9 seconds and are electronically limited to 173mph.

The Coupe manages 30.1mpg on the WLTP combined cycle and the Sportback 29.7mpg, with similar CO2 outputs of 213g/km and 215g/km.
