NEW Peugeot 308 Boasts New Technology and Powertrains

New PEUGEOT 308, 308 SW and 308 GTi by PEUGEOT SPORT bring new technology and safety features - due to hit UK roads in September.

Introducing The New Peugeot 308

The new Peugeot 308 is set to hit UK roads this September, the updated model brings a range of new connected technology and safety features. Styling enhancements have also been added for the 2018 model year which will create a bigger appeal to a wider audience of motorists.

The new Peugeot 308 benefits from a 9.7-inch capacitive touchscreen, this brings key functions of the interior into one screen which can be operated safely at the tap of the screen. Some of the key features that can be controlled via the screen are dual zone climate control as well as the 3D connected navigation with TomTom Live updates.

The new infotainment system allows seamless integration of smartphone functions via Mirror Screen, this allows users to access smartphone features such as music without taking their eyes off the road.

Driving aids in the new Peugeot 308

The new Peugeot 308 inherits driving aids from the all-new Peugeot 3008 SUV, this brings intelligent Speed Limit Recognition to the sporty hatchback along with Adaptive Cruise Control with stop functionality. An Active Blind Spot Monitoring System also features and a camera in the windscreen works with the Speed Limit Recognition System to determine the speed limit of the road you're driving on and display it on the car's dashboard.

Completing the safety and convenience package is a City Pack that offers smart park assist.

New Engines in the Peugeot 308

For the new Peugeot 308, a range of new engines will be offered, these are all compliant with strict Euro 6 regulations.

The three-cylinder PureTech petrol engine which has been seen on older models has been updated for the latest 308, this is coupled with a six-speed manual gearbox which improves efficiency and control.

Emissions are also reduced on the 1.2L PureTech 130 engine due to the Stop&Start system. A new 1.5L BlueHDi 130 Stop&Start diesel engine can also be found in the range.

Also new to the range is an eight-speed automatic transmission, this can be coupled with the 2.0L BlueHDi 180 Stop&Start.

New Trim Levels and Updated Exterior on the Peugeot 308

New seat fabrics are used for the Active and Allure trim levels, these enhance the comfort, look and feel of the interior. All of the new 308 models benefit from Peugeot's i-Cockpit which is paired with the compact steering wheel.

The interior of new 308 models has been improved slightly, keeping the style of the older models but with some refreshing changes such as the panoramic cielo glass roof, this features on Allure, GT Line and GT versions.

On the exterior, the 308 has inherited minor changes to stay true to Peugeot's new design language. New changes include 'Claw Effect' lights being standard on all models, along with front and rear bumpers and headlights being re-moulded.

With the 308 being aimed at younger drivers or motorists looking to stand out from the crowd, Peugeot has offered a two-tone colour option, made up of Magnetic Blue and Black Perla Nera.
