Mercedes-Benz GLA: Mercedes Answer to the Compact SUV

The Mercedes-Benz GLA was introduced as a concept in 2013 to the Mercedes SUV range. The GLA shares very similar visual qualities to the A Class but stands a bit taller, with a bigger body, allowing more room in the boot and rear passenger seats. It has since developed into an increasingly popular vehicle which offers a great range of engine sizes and trim levels. [SEE: Mercedes-Benz GLA Car Leasing Offers]

Whilst it carries a lot of qualities from the A-Class, the GLA brings style, a higher driving position and added comfort. With the SUV market expanding, it was only right for Mercedes to bring their take out on the compact SUV market.

Here's everything you need to know about the Mercedes-Benz GLA.

Mercedes-Benz GLA: Safety Features

A solid interior quality is what gives this vehicle its luxury feel. The large, sport-like seats come with artico (artificial) leather. The rear seats offer enough space to fit two adults fairly comfortably. Some standard and optional features include the Keyless-GO starting function and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A reversing camera and off-road comfort suspension is also included as standard.

If you opted for a premium package for £1695, you could get the Garmin satellite navigation, parking pilot, LED high performance headlights with Adaptive Highbeam Assist. If you spend £2,995 however, you will be able to have the Premium Plus package which includes all of the above with addition of Keyless-GO Comfort Package and traction in all conditions.

The boot offers 421 litres, rising to 836 litres with the rear seats faced down. There isn't a space for a spare wheel however. That being said, you wouldn't expect this in an SUV, but because the GLA is a crossover, we can forgive it for sitting that one out.
